The Icarus DMS system is a digital asset management solution, allowing the capture, editing, storage and subsequent retrieval of a variety of digital media components, from basic images, media files, Microsoft office documents, Adobe files, through to numerous audio and video file formats.
The architecture of Icarus DMS is designed to facilitate concurrent capture, storage and retrieval using a SQL-92 compliant database server as an intermediary between the user application and the central database. All communications between the Icarus DMS server and its clients are stateless, in that every transaction is complete in itself and has no reliance on previous transactions, thus increasing the robustness of the system.
The inbuilt flexibility of Icarus DMS means that the entire system can be run on a single PC, or spread over a network, with the Icarus DMS server and database, referencing remote storage servers, either locally or internationally.
